In an effort to bring together its various programs in Detroit and further strengthen its ties to the city, the University of Michigan recently created the Detroit Center in the heart of downtown. The 10,500 square foot facility provides space for offices, classes, meetings, exhibitions, lectures and collaborative work, while serving as a base for students and faculty working on projects in Detroit.

Needless to say, the new center is an important reflection on the school, and an attractive, highly functional interior was critical. With this much on the line, the University of Michigan chose PCI to provide all the interior construction services associated with the complete renovation of the facility. We worked closely with the university and delivered a beautiful space that will be valuable to the entire community for decades to come.
